Marci doesn’t believe a book event has to look like a traditional book event, or that a speaking engagement has to mean simply standing at a podium. She creates experiences that bring stories to life and invite audiences to step into her world. Her events are lively, theatrical, unexpected, and designed to leave people with something to talk about long after the final page has been signed.
Depending on the occasion, an event might feature feathers and dancing girls, cookies transformed into art, New Orleans jazz, cocktails inspired by her books, glitter and bookmarks, storytelling and drama, vintage glamour, and, of course, books! Every detail is an opportunity to make the experience more memorable and connect the audience to the story in a way that feels joyful, surprising, and completely Marci.
At the heart of every event, though, is Marci herself and her genuine love of connecting with people. Martini Mystery Book Signings
Where literature meets theatrical flair
When Marci wrote her first book, Martini Mystery, she wanted to make her book signings interactive, so she created them in unexpected venues like Alice and Olivia luxury shop, vintage shops, and she even signed books at a Speakeasy in Harlem with New Orleans band the High Society Orchestra. She created each book signing as a theatrical literary event with aspects of the book coming to life:
Glamour with a Good Cause
She dressed like her character to sign books and meet readers. The venues served champagne and cocktails from the book (each chapter begins with a cocktail), and gave out cookies in the shape of martinis.

During Covid, she released Book 2 in her Martini Mystery series: The Champagne Scandal: The Spirits are Calling. Undaunted by the pandemic shutdown, and the inability to have book events in person, Miss Marci hosted readings on Insta Live every Thursday night from her pink closet. She read some of her book, then hired burlesque dancers to perform from all over the world, from Amsterdam to New Orleans.
The Champagne Scandal is about the theft of rare and irreplaceable vintage burlesque costumes, vintage fashion, and Old Hollywood style is an integral part of the story. Connecting to these aspects in conjunction with the book, she interviewed legendary vintage fashion curators, vintage collectors, and celebrities. These Insta Live events turned out to be a big hit and sold books all over the world.

Divorce Diva Book Signings
For the book Divorce Diva, Marci Darling had a big splashy book event in New York City, with multiple billboards in Times Square and the book event happening at Alice and Olivia on Madison Avenue.
Divorce Diva reached #1 on Amazon.
In March of 2022, Marci Darling signed books at Alice and Olivia in Miami, spoke at the Troubadour in West Hollywood, and judged the Stella Shouting Contest at the Tennessee Williams Literary Festival in New Orleans.
