A NIGHT OF CHAMPAGNE & INTRIGUE

A Storm, a Séance & a Scandal

On a dark and stormy night, Ellington’s sister Callie returns from France with priceless jewels and costumes once belonging to iconic showgirls, including Josephine Baker, for a New Orleans museum exhibition. Ellington is hosting one of her legendary Storm Parties when a bloodcurdling scream interrupts the wine-filled evening, sending her and her Band of Irregulars into a whirlwind of glittering showgirls, suspicious guests, a portly magician, flowing champagne, and even a séance.

As the hurricane rages outside, Ellington must determine which of her guests committed the crime before the storm is over. With Callie and her irreplaceable historical treasures at stake, the spirits may not be the only dangerous things haunting the party.

Mimosas, Bellinis & Revelry Oh My!
Ellington Martini; our sultry & quick witted protagonist from Martini Mystery returns bringing the scintillating burlesque history of NOLA whilst highlighting luminary & legend Josephine Baker. Marci Darling’s writing is filled with vivacity, hilarity and jewels of conversational prowess. As with this author’s first novel Martini Mystery; each chapter delightfully features cocktail recipes and its predecessor Champagne Scandal is dedicated to the art of this ebullient beverage! An extraordinary mystery novel written by a showgirl with a penchant for levity & intellect! I highly recommend this fantastic novel ! The author’s auxiliary IGTV book signing events also bring the novel to life & are beyond fabulous!

Second in the series and I couldn’t stop reading!!
I so enjoyed Martini Mystery where Ellington Martini and her whimsical friends took me on a fast paced adventure through New Orleans. I’ve never visited, but felt like I had been there after reading this book! And the excitement and mystery keeps you turning the pages and you don’t want to put the book down. Champagne Scandal was just as exciting and descriptive and what a surprise at the end! Wow. And I love all of the cocktail recipes at the beginning of each chapter 🍾🥂🍸🍹 Can’t wait for the next book as the mysteries continue.🕵️‍♀️

Hilarious fun and I felt smarter after reading it.
Darling weaves a story of murder and high crimes in legendary New Orleans using her wit, her limitless dreamy imagination, a dash of naughty mischief, her expansive knowledge of dance and the ground breakers in dance. Her passion for showcasing and appreciating unsung heroes stories like Josephine Baker, leaves you feeling smarter, enriched and more enlightened with each page turn. Francois is a delightful fun character and a perfect pairing with heroine Ellington Martini – their chemistry jumps off the pages with hilarious banter.
