Glittery and Fun from Start to Finish
I have purchased all of Marci’s books because I absolutely love the humorous, quirky and magical way she writes. I wanted to be in New Orleans visiting the same places her characters went in this book sipping a martini with them. Each location was written in such glorious detail. This book is glittery and fun from beginning to end and keeps you eager to see where it is going. So cleaver too, that she started each chapter with a cocktail recipe. Just that alone makes it worth the price of the book.

This a tremendously fun, high-spirited read that is one part mystery, one part history of esoteric New Orleans history, and a couple of dashes of fashion. After a strange encounter at a nighttime parade, Darling takes readers on a wild trip through New Orleans secret societies and local lore in a dash to solve the mystery of a dead man, a mysterious key, an antique photograph, and a seemingly cursed Grace Kelly purse. She writes with wit and breeze and puts a smile on the reader’s face, even when dastardly deeds are afoot.

Martini Mystery was the best treat I have had all year!
I am a single dad raising three teenagers and a puppy. I bought this book and enjoyed every page. Because of my limited time I was able to spread the joy of reading this book over four days. When I was at work I would be excited to come home and read some more. I looked forward to “my time” every day just to read more. I enjoyed the book so much that when I finished I felt sad it was over. This book was FUN…. something I think I really wanted. I highly recommend this book! I am buying another book today for a Christmas present. The author is an absolute literary artist for creating this masterpiece of fun! I LOVED this book!!!!!

Perfect reading with a glass or two in hand.
Loved this book! I was transported to New Orleans and all my favourite places. It rattles along at breakneck speed with all the fizz and sparkle of a champagne cocktail and the excitement of a Second Line. Oh, to live like Marci’s heroine in vintage gowns and vertiginous heels, living passionately and fighting crime. Pure escapism – and the cocktail recipes are pretty good too.
