This article from Aha Parenting is a lovely reminder to take things slow with our children. You don’t have to tell me twice! My favorite days are our slow days…a long slow luxurious hot breakfast by candlelight with a story; a walk in the woods with nowhere to be, just exploring and finding treasures and sitting on fallen trees and talking; riding our bikes with no destination, or if we have a destination, being de-railed from our plans by running into friends and playing, or deciding to dance around the living room instead. Being a parent is the best excuse in the world to slow it down and let it be!
I lie here on my pink puffy bed in my pink silky pajamas, or pink flannel depending on my mood (the only thing you can bank on is that there will be chocolate smeared somewhere on my attire), with my pink feathered pen, writing my most delicious daydreams. Funny? Sometimes. Scandalous? Hopefully. Inspiring? Perhaps. Full of love? Always.
Welcome to my World.

Burlesque Stars with Questionable Memories
I can’t believe she didn’t remember me! How could she not remember me? I performed with her every week for more than a year! She used the van to transport her props–her giant champagne glass, her costume made of more than a thousand peacock feathers, her enormous gilded birdcage, the one with a fountain…
Why Fairies?
Some of you may be wondering why I write so much about fairies. That would be because I have fairy blood. That might seem crazy but it’s true. First of all, I’ve always suspected there was magic running through my veins, so I was hardly surprised when I found out I actually was a descendant of the fairies. I performed as Peasblossom in Midsummer Night’s Dream at the Globe in LA and I met some wonderful people and most importantly,…

Isle of Skye, Scotland: Land of Windswept Fairy Tales; Home to Warrior Queens; and Healer of Broken Hearts
If there exists a land of windswept fairy tales, Skye is it. It feels like you are on the edge of the world. Fog curls around the mountains like gray cotton candy arms wrapping the hills in a hug, pink wildflowers dangle like bells, old stone bridges arch over rushing rivers, the kinds of stone bridges where ancient legends are made, legends of fairies and magical creatures who dance on the bridges at night, bridges from this world to the other world, the magic world.

V-Jay-Jay VDay!
Well, Saturday night was my first real night out after bedtime (7pm!) in four years! I went to see VDay–the tenth anniversary of the Vagina Monologues. Eve Ensler has chosen to focus on Gulf Coast women for 2008. She wrote some INCREDIBLE monologues for the women of Katrina and dear New Orleans. She opened the show with a monologue saying New Orleans is like the “woman” of America. People come to her for pleasure, for spiciness, for fun, but when…
