Pirate’s Alley—The name alone is reason to enough to walk this alleyway next to St. Louis Cathedral.
Walk this alleyway and close your eyes and picture the gorgeous glam pirates who once walked these streets in their big feathered hats, handsome tanned faces and thigh-high leather boots framing muscular thighs… ok I know I’m fantasizing here, but indulge me if you will… if it’s pirate fest, you may even open your eyes and see a real pirate! Or at least someone dressed as one. He may have a bit of a beer belly hanging over his pants, his whiskers are probably covered in remoulade, and he will more than likely be carrying one of those decidedly un-glamorous giant plastic cups with the gaudy cocktails in it, but squint your eyes and pretend you’re back in Lafitte’s time… minus the mosquitoes and lack of indoor plumbing… and don’t forget to visit the best part of Pirate’s Alley…Faulkner’s house!
