I love this blog on making ice ornaments–a magical process for parents AND kids!
I lie here on my pink puffy bed in my pink silky pajamas, or pink flannel depending on my mood (the only thing you can bank on is that there will be chocolate smeared somewhere on my attire), with my pink feathered pen, writing my most delicious daydreams. Funny? Sometimes. Scandalous? Hopefully. Inspiring? Perhaps. Full of love? Always.
Welcome to my World.

Well, we were walking yesterday among the wild animals at Swamp Fest (is there anything more terrifying than an alligator oozing out of the water?) and I was telling George how I wanted to take the kids on safari, how amazing to see the animals in their natural habitat with no enclosures. “Doesn’t that sound incredible?” I asked him, imagining monkeys eating out of our hands, me in an adorable pith helmet and khaki suit, Annabelle and Henry dancing to…
Magical Bookshop and the Russian Writers
I found the best bookstore the other day. I’ve passed it a million times but never entered as it’s on a semi-nasty street and covered in grates. I finally entered it and it was like walking into mecca for a book lover like me. Fabulous books from wall-to-wall. I came home with a huge stack. Right now I’m reading an amazing book on Tolstoy’s marriage. I have loved Tolstoy since I read War and Peace at 14 years old. My…

She knows exactly which characters she wants to be. “The little girls wearing tutus carrying baby dolls, not the little girls that do yoga.” It was bedtime, so I said, “Let’s clean up your nursery before bed.” Annabelle: “Mom, I don’t really like to clean up. It’s…

Leg Wrestling and Judo
My parents called me today to see if I remembered a boy from my hometown by the name of Mark Long. Of course I do. I used to beat him at leg wrestling even though he was three years older than me. I was best friends with his little sister, Sherri, in first grade. Our parents were childhood friends. When I went over to their house to play, I challenged Sherri’s brothers to leg wrestling matches and beat the pants…
