Galvanized Headwear for Glamour Girls Guide

I LOVE researching for Glamour Girls Guide to Boston. I get to explore new areas of the city and meet the most fabulous people! (Not to mention all the new treasures in my closet!) Today I visited Galvanized Headwear in the South End of Boston, at 450 Harrison to be exact, and found a spectacular hat shop! The designer and owner, Marie Galvin, is a lovely charming milliner with a lilting Irish accent and an eye for making a person stand out from the crowd. “I guarantee people will have a great time when they wear one of my hats,” she says. “They stand out. They pop. And they always come back and say they felt like a celebrity, they felt beautiful, and they had a wonderful time.”

She and her hats were a delight and she helped us try them on and cheered as we strutted around the store, each hat enhancing a different personality trait. My friend, Rosemary, who looks stunning in everything with her thick black hair and olive skin, ended up with a luscious red ostrich feather fascinator. Tristan, my Glamour Boy of Boston, strutted about wearing a leopard print velvet cowboy hat/riding hat. And since I attend an unusual amount of 1920’s events, I opted for the sparkling Flapper headpiece on a velvet ribbon. It made me feel like I had diamonds dripping in my hair. For eye-popping showstoppers to go with any outfit, it’s worth the trip to the South End!

I lie here on my pink puffy bed in my pink silky pajamas, or pink flannel depending on my mood (the only thing you can bank on is that there will be chocolate smeared somewhere on my attire), with my pink feathered pen, writing my most delicious daydreams. Funny? Sometimes. Scandalous? Hopefully. Inspiring? Perhaps. Full of love? Always. Welcome to my World.
