Our Dashing Divorcee today is Jean Harlow! Ms. Harlow was divorced not once, not twice, but three times! All before the age of 26! Well, technically, one of those times she was widowed, her second husband died by suicide. Before she died, she was about to enter her fourth marriage, this time with William Powell, when she suddenly and tragically died of kidney failure. I think it’s safe to stay she stayed and woman with a heart open to love.
Harlow was a very successful movie star back in the 1930’s. Did she stop working to nurse her broken heart, or even take time off to grieve? Nope, this plucky young actress continued to work during all her painful divorces.
If you watch her movies, you will see a stunningly glamorous, fast-talking and hilarious young woman with chutzpah and courage to spare. No one would guess she all the pain of her private life.
