Hear Ye! Hear Ye!
As of last night, my TEDx talk is finally available to watch!
It’s called “A Kraken, A Sea Change, and a Lighthouse: The Transformative Impact of Creativity on Grief.”
In it, I talk about my own journey through heartbreak, the connections I have found between creativity and grief, and even the surprising gifts I have found in sorrow.
Why is it only showing up now when I did this talk 8 months ago? Apparently the guards found it “controversial”… I don’t know–you will have to watch it and see for yourself.
The night of the talk was crazy- there was a raging blizzard, I was last in the lineup of speakers, and wicked nervous after working myself into a frenzy backstage for 6 hours waiting to talk. (Don’t even ask about how I burnt my hair so that smoke was coming off my head moments before I stepped onstage!)
If you find yourself with a free 12 minutes, take a listen and if you like it, comment, share, and let me know your thoughts. (If you don’t like it, keep it to yourself lol.)

Brilliant like you! You were so vulnerable and articulate. I will challenge myself to be more creative and playful.
I have loved your books. Can’t wait for a new one to arrive.
Thank you so much Rina! You have inspired me!
Marci,
Your Ted Talk was amazing! I loved getting to know you better and I loved what you have to say about creativity of art, music, dancing, movement, writing, connecting with others helped you create new pathways in the brain! I loved how you were unwilling to let your children sink and fought to create stability through grief.

Thank you Kathy!! That’s a great way of putting it–“fought to create stability through grief.” It’s been a tough battle! I appreciate your comment!
