Fleur De Paris

The storefront window alone is worth the trip, with its carousel horse,  glamorous, sparkling clothing, evening gloves, 1920’s style speakeasy coats trimmed in chinchilla (I’ll only buy faux!), but their main claim to fame?
One-of-a-kind Hats!
Fleur De Paris has the most incredible array of hats—from 1920’s diamond flapper hats to English riding hats to Kentucky Derby stunners. If you are a high roller and in the mood to buy something stunning and frivolous, this is the place for you! If you’re a savvy spender, at least visit so you can go home and make your own cocktail hats—for a fraction of the price! Beware, however—the store does not allow you to take photos and the “toad” will watch you while you look around as if she expects you to try to steal something!
But if you try on a hat and do a little dance for her (slowly pull your skirt up your thigh and kick your foot like a slinky vixen, followed by a show shoulder roll), you may get her to break a smile. (I tried this–it worked!) Personally, we love salesgirl and hat designer, Brooke—she’s gorgeous, friendly, and a real live New Orleans burlesque dancer! I recently bought a deep green leopard print riding hat with the most luscious feathers on it. It’s sassy! It makes me feel spunky!
My riding hat!
And the other day, Sharon Sugar bought a mustard English riding hat with jaunty feathers and a hot pink cocktail hat for her upcoming trip to Europe. She’ll be the toast of London and Paris in these hats! Eat your heart out Duchess Kate! Miss Sugar is on her way to your domain with the cutest hats in the world!

The purple hat on Zoe and the fuschia hat on my are both riding hats from Fleur de Paris–note the gorgeous ribbon band, luscious colors and incredible feathers!
Incredible couture purple riding hat, and the flapper hat on Annabelle is from Emporium 52 in Salem, MA.
Look at those feathers!! And my sweet boy!
Getting feathers to curl so perfectly is an art! That’s the beauty of handmade couture
Incredible that we traveled with these hats and the feathers didn’t break! We carried them carefully in hat boxes.

I lie here on my pink puffy bed in my pink silky pajamas, or pink flannel depending on my mood (the only thing you can bank on is that there will be chocolate smeared somewhere on my attire), with my pink feathered pen, writing my most delicious daydreams. Funny? Sometimes. Scandalous? Hopefully. Inspiring? Perhaps. Full of love? Always. Welcome to my World.
