I lie here on my pink puffy bed in my pink silky pajamas, or pink flannel depending on my mood (the only thing you can bank on is that there will be chocolate smeared somewhere on my attire), with my pink feathered pen, writing my most delicious daydreams. Funny? Sometimes. Scandalous? Hopefully. Inspiring? Perhaps. Full of love? Always.
Welcome to my World.
Just a little Disney update from Pink Pajama Mama signing on here from Disneyworld. We are having the most fabulous time!! We had breakfast with Mary Poppins and Alice in Wonderland and Pooh. The look on Annabelle’s face was priceless when we entered the room. Henry, on the other hand, was terrified of all the characters. He cried and had to be taken from the room. He was so cute. He sat in a tiny chair and his feet didn’t even touch the ground, he’s so little. A…
A small box arrived in the mail from a Tuscan store. I thought this was bizarre as I hadn’t ordered anything. Things got even stranger when I opened it. The numbers 007 were printed discreetly on the outside. I carefully unfolded the top, and inside was the nastiest smelling candle I’ve ever smelled. I hadn’t ordered it, George had to have ordered it, which now sent things spinning into the twilight zone. George HATES scented candles and never misses an…
I LOVE holidays!! Thanksgiving is not my favorite as I feel so bad for the turkeys and I’m not a football fan, but, I love the energy and excitement of people getting off work and spending time with their families. George, my little gourmand, has been like a kid in a candy store. He ordered a truffle from Italy and it arrived this morning on ice. He came into the bedroom where the kids and I were playing holding a…
I’m watching my two-year-old daughter running circles around my living room. She’s dressed herself in a leotard with stars on it, her tall puppy dog boots, and a pink silk square of fabric tied around her neck for a cape. As she runs, she looks over her shoulder, watching the cape swish out behind her. She looks for her reflection in the window, jumping as high as she can and then taking off again. I watch her in wonder. How…
Dashing Divorcees are those fabulous women who had their hearts broken and then stood up in their optimal power and made some magic for our world! This is the gift of our journey through painful experiences–when we get to the other side, we can hold up a lantern for those of us just starting down the path, letting them see the light, follow the light, and know that life can be even better than they ever dreamed! Our Dashing Divorcee…
I guess the point is that, even now, a million years later, books are my Orient Express, my journey into the Sultan’s Palace, my feet slipped into the upturned toes of a genie’s slippers, and my three wishes involve more books, the kind that feel like catching magic by the tail and making it into a kite, the kind that change minds and nourish souls, and of course, living, passionately, wildly, softly, and always always always, living “by heart.”
