Diva Writing Workshop: Awaken
“I want to do with you what spring does with the cherry trees…” Pablo Neruda
I was sitting at the Beekman hotel one night, drinking a Pablo Neruda, when I started thinking about the explosion of enchantment that comes from a stunning turn of phrase, those “rustic baskets of kisses” that land on our page, a thrilling unraveling, a lush awakening.
Every day we are alive, we create with our words, destroy with our words, through words we “play with the light of the universe.” Words construct our reality, so “Tell me, what is it you plan to do with your one wild and precious life?” (Mary Oliver)
Anais Nin wrote: “We do not escape into philosophy, psychology, and art — we go there to restore our shattered selves into whole ones.”
The goal of this writing class is to awaken to the magic all around us through writing our own stories, divine dancing, and reading transformative stories and poetry. Winter in Boston is hard and long, so I’m creating my own reality and nourish my soul by teaching this writing class.
For four gorgeous Sundays, we will learn how to nourish our souls and light our inner lights though playful creativity. Essentially, we will do to ourselves what spring does to cherry trees.
At the end of this course, you will have your own poem and personal memoir story filled with lush sensory descriptions. You will learn how to make writing pop through frisky word-smithing, merry-making metaphors, and passionate verbs. You will learn the transformative power of spirited soul work through writing and movement.
Classes are Sunday nights from 8:00pm to 9:30pm EST, and all sessions are recorded for viewing on your own time if you have a conflict.
Come Join me…
“And the day came when the risk to remain tight in a bud became more painful than the risk it took to blossom.” Anais Nin
